Sanctuary Cows Celebrating National Sister Day Couldn't Possibly Be Sweeter
Love and Truth are no ordinary sisters. The two cows at The Gentle Barn animal rescue have been besties since they first laid eyes on each other. So naturally the two were going to spend National Sisters day together in an adorable new video online.
Truth and her mother Audrey were brought to the animal rescue so that they wouldn't be slaughtered.
Love was born only a few months after the two cows arrived at the rescue, a video shared online explained. But from the moment the sisters met, they had an "unbreakable bond."

"Love taught her sister how to be brave," the rescue explained in the text overlay. "And together they taught their mom Audrey that people can be kind," they added.
All those lessons have done the family good. The sisters will get to live their lives at the rescue's sanctuary and their mama will spend her days being surrounded by love too.
"They had VERY different beginnings in life but now get to play, run, nap, and cuddle together every day along with their mom Audrey, who is always by their side," the rescue wrote in the caption.
The power of the sisters' story touched commenters online. "They are so sweet. Thank you for what you do. You are making this world a more humane and beautiful place," wrote one commenter. "So cute with their white faces. So glad they were rescued," another person added. While a third person understood these complex relationships completely. "My cats are sisters. Their mama only had the two of them and I was only supposed to take one but I couldn't bear the thought of them being without each other. They do everything together," she explained.
Cows Are Good Mothers
Protective, caring, and empathetic, cows really are great moms to their calves. When cows have babies, they bond with them for life. Cow moms are there to teach their babies right from wrong and keep them safe from trouble.
What's really impressive is that these animals feel deeply. Cows can "catch" the feelings of their peers. So if their little one is upset, a mama cow is going to start to get upset too.
Cows have been known to "adopt" other calves in need of a parent. When this happens, it's no different than if the baby had been their biological child.
In short, cows are fun-loving, great parents. The way they care for their babies is so, so sweet.
