Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett Kick Off Their Wedding Weekend in Style

Princess Märtha Louise and Shaman Durek Verrett's wedding celebrations are underway in Norway.

"It feels amazing to be marrying Durek, and I'm so happy the day is almost here. The surroundings are gorgeous — it's one of the most beautiful places I know," Märtha Lousie told Hello Magazine. "Even if there are a few glitches, we can still gaze at the stunning scenery."

Festivities began last night with a welcome party at Hotel 1904 in Ålesund, where the soon-to-be newlyweds wore matching pink looks as they greeted guests. The bespoke outfits were designed by Märtha Louise's brand Hést, which she runs with two friends:

Today, the couple took a boat trip along the Geiranger Fjord to Geiranger village with their guests, for a pre-wedding party at Hotel Union, where their marriage ceremony will take place tomorrow.

"Geiranger is known for its spectacular fjord and its dramatic mountains. The Geirangerfjord is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and represents Norway's rich culture and natural beauty," Märtha Louise wrote on Instagram. "We're so happy to be celebrating our love in the beautiful surroundings of Geiranger. It means a lot to us to gather our loved ones in a place that is so rich in history and intense nature experiences. Geiranger is the perfect place to embrace our love."

The couple got engaged in June 2022, and in November 2022, Princess Märtha Louise gave up her royal duties. That said, she is still a member of the Norwegian royal family, and several of her relatives are attending the wedding; Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were pictured in Åselund on Thursday, along with their children Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus. And Queen Sonja and King Harald are expected to be in attendance tomorrow, as are Märtha Louise's three daughters, Maud, Leah, and Emma. "They’re ride-or-die," Verrett told T&C about Märtha’s daughters. "They’re my sunshine, my light, my everything."
