People Are JUST Now Discovering That Toasters Have TRAYS That Catch Crumbs for Easy Cleanup

Over the last year, TikTok has given us a lot of cleaning hacks… and we do mean a lot. Turns out sitting at home has made us realize that there are easier ways to clean our blenders, our ovens and even that burnt pot that we left sitting on the stove just a little too long. Now, people are realizing there’s an easier way to clean toasters, too—and funnily enough, it came from someone who was tired of TikTok cleaning hacks.

We’ve Been Be-Trayed

Yes, people feel betrayed because they just discovered there are trays in toasters! TikTok user @thebigcleanco was annoyed at the latest hack, which told people to use a hairdryer to clean their toaster. As a professional cleaner, she says the easiest way to do it is to just tip it over the bin. In the process of showing us this, she removed a tray from the bottom of the toaster—and TikTok users had a collective meltdown when they discovered that there are, in fact, trays that catch all the crumbs.

Yep, as it turns out, all you need to do to get your toaster really clean is slide out the little tray, brush it clean and then tip the rest of your toaster over the bin. While she’s not a fan of the hairdryer trick, she does say that if all the crumbs aren’t out after a quick cleaning, you can use a clean toothbrush to get hold of any remaining bread debris (but don’t forget to unplug your toaster first!).
