Essentially mini convection ovens, air fryers can crisp foods without the mess and without adding a bunch of fat. As the name suggests, they are great for French fries, fried shrimp, and fried chicken, but that's not all they can do. Veggies, meats, and even desserts can be cooked to perfection in an air fryer. Most big-name units tend to be expensive, but some models are actually very affordable. This Farberware 3.2-quart Digital Air Fryer, for example, is currently on sale for only $39 from Walmart.

This particular Farberware model has a 3.2-quart capacity, which works for up to two pounds of food. It's a perfect size for one or two people. It's big enough for a batch of french fries, appetizers or a couple of cobs of corn.

The digital touch screen with eight preprogrammed options makes it easy to select the right cooking time. And if you ever run out of ideas of what to cook, it comes with a book with 25 recipes in it.

One shopper called it a must-buy: “This is definitely the most used item I ever bought. I use my air fryer at least twice a day, every day. This is a great size for 1 or 2 people, otherwise get a bigger one. I cook for 3 people and I have to sometimes cook in batches.”
