Mini Horse Reuniting With BFF After Stay at Animal Hospital Is Full of Pure Joy

It can feel disheartening to have to send any animal to a hospital, even for just a few hours, but the expert veterinarians will ensure that your pets get nothing less than the best. After all, top-notch healthcare is key for any animal's wellbeing, especially when they're as young and precious as Marvel the Unicorn.

This rescue horse was recently released from the equine hospital following a severe bout of colic, but the best moment happened on August 21 when he was reunited with his best friend, Celeste, at The Gentle Barn.

What perfect angels! These mini horses have shown each other the true meaning of friendship, and now they have a bond that can't be broken. Even when Marvel the Unicorn had to be hospitalized due to colic, neither BFF forgot about the other. And now that they're back together, all is right in the world!

The animal caretakers and volunteers who work at The Gentle Barn know just how special animal friendships can be, especially for rescue farm animals like these horses. All of the animals at all three of The Gentle Barn's locations are rescue animals, so it's taken time for them to build friendships and to learn to trust again. After some time and TLC, though, most animals thrive in the presence of friends. After all, many farm animals are herd animals, and it doesn't feel nearly as comforting to be alone.

However, Celeste and Marvel both had to face their fears for a few days while the white horse received veterinary treatment. Fortunately, it seems like everything went as well as it could have, and he's feeling much more like himself again. I can only imagine how relieved his friends are feeling to know that he's OK!

Rescuing a Miniature Horse

If you're a huge fan of animals big and small like I am, it can be hard to fathom why a gorgeous miniature horse like Celeste or Marvel could end up needing rescue. Sadly, there are so many reasons why animals are rescued, from hoarding situations to end-of-life care, but the most important thing is that they all have a place to live out the rest of their days in peace.

While miniature horses may require a bit less space (and a lot less food) than a full-size horse, they're just as much work to care for! Mini horses need to be fed, watered, and groomed regularly, but you can't forget to clean their stalls and paddocks, either! Owning a horse of any size requires dedication and patience, but it's so rewarding to know that you're giving them the life they deserve.
