Melania Trump unveils White House Christmas decorations in Dior showstopper

Melania Trump is a vision in white!

The first lady unveiled the White House's Christmas decorations -- simple, yet elegant, with elements of Americana and nature -- on Monday. Melania invited young children from nearby Joint Base Andrews to view the decorations and do crafts, and they showered her with compliments.

"She's beautiful like an angel!" one child said as the first lady, dressed in a gorgeous cream Dior dress with bell sleeves and a fluid skirt that hit below her knees, walked into the East Room to help a group of kids make a garland.

"Are you the first lady?" asked another.

When FLOTUS walked into the room, all the children adorably went in for a group hug. Melania looked absolutely ecstatic! The cream-colored number is the same silhouette as the navy blue Dior look she recently wore during her tour of Asia. For Monday's occasion, she opted to accessorize the classic look with a skinny gold belt and stilettos of the same hue.

Melania began her tour by emerging from the Grand Staircase into the Grand Foyer where a trio ballerinas were performing the "Nutcracker Suite." The decorations in the foyer consisted of a forest of Christmas trees that looked like they had just been covered with a layer of snow.

In the Blue Room, an 18-foot, Wisconsin-grown pine tree decorated in ornaments representing every state and territory filled the room. Melania even had the chance to make gum drop trees with children in the Red Room, decorated in a candy theme, while warning them about the dangers of sugar.

This year's theme of "Time-Honored Traditions" paid homage to the different traditions in American history, with each room representing a different tradition. For more on Melania's look, click through the slideshow above.
