Just days after announcing a Mario Kart game, Lego is now teasing a Dungeons and Dragons collaboration. The Lego Group posted a new video on its social media channels, showing a monster emerging from a treasure chest and gobbling up a familiar-looking dice.
Over on Lego's website, a countdown is now live for the Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set, with a cryptic description that has left fans scratching their heads.
Nothing to see here. Just a regular chest. Or is it? Gather your party, some epic fun is coming. Let’s go! #LEGODnD pic.twitter.com/Y4WcJjLx4o

This is not the first time Lego has teased a DnD collaboration, as the company posted a teaser last month showing a gelatinous cube. As reported by IGN, the company hosted a contest in anticipation of DnD's 50th anniversary in 2022, with BoltBuild's 'Dragon's Keep: Journey's End' coming out on top. While Lego's new teaser may be building to an official reveal of the set for fans, there are rumors about something completely different - new DnD-themed Lego minifigures.
Falconbricks, a reliable insider when it comes to Lego sets, claims that we'll see the Lego DnD minifigures starting in September this year. According to the website, the minifigure lineup will consist of the following:
Tiefling Sorcerer with Red Baby Dragon
Golden Dragonborn Paladin with Shield
Tasha the With Queen with Cauldron
White Aarakocra Ranger with Dog
Mindflayer with Intellect Devourer
Dwarf Barbarian with Axe
Strahd von Zarovich with Sword
Githyanki Warlock with Knife
Halfling Druid with Bird
Halfling Bard with Lute
Lady of Pain with Cube
Szass Tam with Skull
Each Lego collectible will reportedly cost $4.99 each. With BoltBuild's DnD Lego set priced at $359, the combined price of the DnD collaborated products would sit at $420. With a Lego collaboration in the coming weeks, interest in DnD is at an all-time high. Baldur's Gate 3, which is based on the fifth edition of DnD, recently took home five trophies at The Game Awards (including Game of the Year), while a sequel to the Dungeons and Dragons movie is also looking likely.
Here is the cryptic text that you'll find teasing the upcoming collaboration on Lego's website:
All campaigns are unique. This will be no exception. Many adventures lie ahead, with more than a hint of danger. But you’ll be facing them alongside your party of brave adventurers, all ready to put their best bricks forward. Prepare for fire-breathing foes and… erm… oh, what’s the word… perilous, trap-filled, underground lairs?
The Lego Ideas DnD set is expected to be fully revealed next week.
