'Joe Pickett Is Back, But There's Only One Way Fans Can Watch

It's no surprise that the Western genre is more popular than ever. Just take a look at Yellowstone and its spinoffs 1883 and 1923, plus new dramas like Justified and Outer Range.
One new Western you may have missed is perfect for fans of the genre. Based on a series of novels by C.J. Box, the first season of Joe Pickett follows the story of a Wyoming game warden who investigates the murder of a local poacher bringing danger to those around him.
The show is back for season 2 on June 4. Here's what to know before you watch.
How to watch Joe Pickett
The first 10-episode season premiered in December of 2021. It originally aired on the Spectrum streaming service before moving to Paramount+. It was renewed for a second season in February 2022, so it has been a long wait for fans!
The first two episodes of the second season will air on June 4, with one episode released per week each following Sunday, exclusively on Paramount+.

Paramount+ released a trailer for the season, which finds Joe investigating a series of murders in the mountains. It was met with excitement from fans, who left comments like, "I just finished season 1. I am officially hooked. Well done to everyone involved" and "I love this show. Can't wait for season 2!"
Cast
The series stars Michael Dorman and Julianna Guill as Joe and Marybeth Pickett. The rest of the cast is made up of Sharon Lawrence (Missy Vankeuren), Mustafa Speaks (Nate Romanowski), Chad Rook (Deputy McLanahan), Aadila Dosani (Cricket), Keean Johnson (Luke Brueggeman), Skywalker Hughes (Sheridan Pickett), Kamryn Pliva (Lucy Pickett), Vivienne Guynn (April Keely), Patrick Gallagher (Sheriff Barnum), and David Alan Grier (Vern Dunnegan). Eagle-eyed fans will recognize a bearded Benjamin Hollingsworth from Virgin River in three episodes of the first season.
Books
There are currently 23 books in the series by C.J. Box, with the 24th due out in February 2024. The first season of the show followed the first and third books in the Joe Pickett series: Open Season and Winterkill. Season 2 is based on Blood Trail.
