Jenna Bush Hager Shares the Secret to How Son Hal Is Always 'Styling for Free'

Jenna Bush Hager has revealed where her son gets his sense of style.

On the Wednesday, Aug. 21 episode of The Today Show, the co-host, 42, shared her secrets as to how her son Hal, 5, whom she shares with husband Henry Hager, gets his "styling" wardrobe for free.

"I love a hand-me-down," the mom of three admits, joking that "Hand-me-down’s a weird word."

"I have a friend who is an over-shopper and I will not say her name on television," she explained, "But her son is a few years older than Hal, and every two months I received a package in the mail for Hal."

Bush Hager even shared that Hal "rarely" gets new clothing, but she assured viewers that it doesn't deter him from "styling."

"Hal has very rarely worn something new," she says. "That man is styling — Styling for free!"

Just last week, Bush Hager, who's also a mom to daughters Mila, 11, and Poppy, 9, spoke to PEOPLE about becoming an aunt for the second time after twin sister Barbara Pierce Bush welcomed her second baby, son Edward Finn Coyne. While chatting, the news anchor shared Hal's adorable reaction to his new cousin.

"My son's birthday is on Aug. 2, and [the baby] was born on Aug. 4," she told PEOPLE. "So when he got her gifts, I said, 'Here are your presents, but guess what? Auntie Barbara gave you a baby.' "

"He was like, 'That's so much better than all the presents!' " she recalled her son saying. "I think he's particularly thrilled that he's going to have a little dude to hang out with."
