Jenn Tran had to catch flight for “DWTS” immediately after crying over breakup on live “Bachelorette” finale
The 26-year-old tells EW she's ready to "enter a new era" on "Dancing With the Stars."
It’s been a dramatic 24 hours for The Bachelorette’s Jenn Tran.
Last night, the physician’s assistant student was brought to tears live on the After the Final Rose stage as she watched footage of herself proposing to contestant Devin Strader in Hawaii. But it wasn’t exactly a happy ending for the pair as Tran then revealed that Strader had shockingly called off their engagement over the phone last month.
After reflecting on the painful memories — and having a difficult, understandably frustrating conversation with Strader about their breakup — in front of a live audience, Tran had less than an hour before her life kicked back into gear and she was on a flight to New York City to make another live appearance as part of Dancing With the Stars' season 33 cast reveal on Good Morning America Wednesday morning.
Now, the 26-year-old is ready to put the past behind her and embark on a brand new adventure on the dance competition. "I'm feeling good. It's a large range of emotions, but overall, feeling good," she tells Entertainment Weekly. "Ready to kind of just step into this new era."

But it hasn’t been exactly easy — literally — to get here. "Last night, I was onstage crying, doing the whole breakup, I get back to the dressing room and I basically get told have 45 minutes to get on my flight," she explains. "It was all just happening and thrown together very, very last minute."
Tran, however, is no quitter. "I got in a car. I didn’t even pack any of my stuff, like I just had my little bag," she recalls. "I was sweaty. I didn’t even have a sweater. I was just [going] one thing to another and just running through the airport."

In fact, she actually met her pro partner, Sasha Farber, for the very first time at the airport. "And now we’re here!" She cheers.
While she doesn’t have much of a dance background — unless one counts a pass-fail ballroom dancing class she took in college — Tran is ready to put her best foot forward on the DWTS dance floor.
"I’m very competitive and I like to hold myself to very high standards. Whatever I do, I want to put everything into it," she says.
Dancing With the Stars premieres on Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
