Highland Mini Calf Named Carrotcake Doing His Morning Greeting to Dad Is Beyond Cute
A Highland miniature cow calf has the cutest morning routine. First she gets up, and then she books it over to her dad's enclosure — all just so she can greet him at the start of her day. Isn't that just the sweetest? This is one little cow who knows the value of her daddy.
If her routine wasn't adorable enough, the calf has a pretty sweet name too — Carrotcake.
Like any cow at the Grass Puppies farm in Alabama, Carrotcake has lots of options of where she can roam throughout her day. But as a video the farm shared shows, the Highland calf chooses to say hi to her pop every single day.

"Every morning Carrotcake runs to tell her dad good morning," a voiceover for the clip states.
The mini cow will then graze on hay, sometimes while getting pets from her owners. It's not a bad life, if you ask us.
Move over influencers, because people in the comments section were dying over the cow's morning routine. "'Good morning, Daddy!' 'Mornin, [daughter]!'" joked one person, as if speaking for Carrotcake and her dad. "I want to feed her a Carrotcake now," someone else chimed in. "Carrotcake is adorable, give her a hug from me," demanded someone else. "I would die for Carrotcake, perfect lil baby," added another commenter.
The Best Animal Dads
No two animals are alike. And when it comes to raising their offspring, male animals can vary in their participation. Some are very involved in raising their kids. Here is a list of the "best dads" in the animal kingdom.
If you've seen The Lion King, then maybe it's no surprise that lions make great fathers. Male lions can be incredibly protective over their young when a threat appears, although Mom does do a lot of the child rearing.
Gorilla dads are another animal that you don't want to mess with. These papas can be the leaders of their clans too, which is a huge responsibility. But they'll always respect the mother of their offspring and will spend time with their kids up until they are teenagers.
One animal that is sort of surprising are Red Foxes. Who knew! These dads are very indulgent with their kids and are always down to roughhouse. They will provide their kids with food until it's time for them to leave the den.
But the best dad of all is the Emporer Penguin. They are the most devoted dads out there. After giving birth to their egg, the female is often worn out and needs to head to the sea for two months to feed. That's when the male penguin steps in and basically is a single dad for months at a time. He won't even eat until mom gets back, which shows that nothing will get between a male Emperor Penguin and his baby.
So you see, there are lots of animals that have a bond with their fathers. And maybe they also have a special way of greeting them, just like Carrotcake does.
