Puppies are all adorable because they are so goofy and fun to watch as they learn and grow in their new world. Great Dane puppies are especially cute because their bodies are so big, and they are trying to figure out how to fit into them. That was certainly the case for Jasmin's puppy when it accidentally kicked itself!

Jasmin shared the video towards the end of April of her Great Dane puppy sitting on a bed. The pup looks like it's close to sleep when its hind leg hits it in the head. The puppy immediately thinks someone else did it and starts to bark and look around for the culprit. Make sure your sound is on so you can hear it!

I thought this was hilarious! The Great Dane puppy is looking around at everybody, wondering who the mean person was that kicked it for no reason! Jasmin's video went viral - it's been viewed almost 16 million times, has over a million likes, and nearly 16 thousand comments. People definitely got a kick out of the pup's kick! @Jax5511 got more than 16 thousand likes for their comment, "His own worst enemy... LOL!" @Heather Blankenship laughed, "The audacity of himself!!!!"

Great Danes as Pets

Do Great Danes make good pets? It depends on who you ask. There are pros and cons that come with every dog breed, and the same is true for the Danes. Overall, most would agree that they make great family pets, though they're definitely not as intelligent as some dog breeds.

Great Danes are often referred to as "gentle giants" and they're also very sensitive dogs. They don't know how big they really are and think of themselves more of lapdogs instead of guard dogs. Imagine a 170-pound dog trying to sit on your lap! They love their family and will protect them fiercely. But they'd still rather cuddle.

Great Danes are easy going and mild mannered for the most part but can be somewhat dominant and pushy, especially with other animals. Undisciplined Great Danes can also be bossy. But with proper training and socialization, they can get along with just about anybody. When training remember that they're sensitive dogs and so you'll want to take more of an upbeat and positive approach to avoid hurting their feelings. Being harsh with Great Danes won't work; it will confuse them and can lead them to be distrustful of you.

You might think by looking at them that these dogs are high energy dogs, but they actually only require about 30 minutes of exercise a day. They do experience separation anxiety when left alone, and that leads to destructiveness. They're also known for excessive drooling...yuck!

Make sure to do thorough research before bringing home any puppy or dog, especially a giant dog like a Great Dane. You want to make sure you understand the good, the bad, and the ugly that goes hand-in-hand with any dog breed to ensure that you - and your dog - will be happy with the decision.
