Dogs are always paying attention. And what they pick up on can really surprise you. One Golden Retriever recently showed off the many (many) animal impressions he does. And people in the comments section were so impressed.

Someone call SNL because Sirius is meant for comedy. Seriously, he's so good at impressions. He nails each one he does.

The Golden Retriever was just waiting for the chance to show off his skills in a video his mama shared online. The clip shows the dog going through his entire repertoire — from his impression of a lion to an uncanny version of a bunny. They're all so good.

After going through his take on a skunk (ground breaking!) and his version of an opossum (a marvel!), the Golden went on to show off a few more tricks he had up his sleeve. The dog is talented! And he listens to his mama well too.

"Animal impression tricks are still some of my favs," the woman explained in the caption.

Anyone who's tried to train their dog, let alone teach it tricks, knows that it's not easy. Which is why people in the comments section really had to give the dog mom some praise. "You already had me but 'workers comp' is gold," one commenter wrote. "I can't get over a opossum and workers comp..... brilliance," someone else gushed. "He looks so happy doin' all his little tricks!! Amazing!! Well-trained!!" exclaimed one commenter. "You obviously worked long hours helping that boy learn so many commands! Beautiful job!" another person agreed.

Teaching Dogs Tricks

It really isn't an understatement to say that teaching your dog tricks isn't easy. It takes a lot of patience and a lot of work. But there are ways to make the whole process easier. Here are just a few ways to help your pet learn some new tricks:

First things first, you'll want to nail basic obedience commands before moving on to anything fancy. Once your dog knows "sit," "stand," and "stay," they can try shaking hands, rolling over, or doing impressions.

This almost goes without saying, but you'll also want to have treats around. Dogs are very food motivated, and a treat can help train them to react the way you want them to. Similarly, you want to always praise your dog for doing a good job. Treats or verbal praise are a good way to encourage them to do tricks.

Again, the key here is patience. Not every dog is going to take to tricks easily. But when they do it's a real joy.
