Golden Retriever Puppy ‘Wrestles’ With a Tomato in Adorable Video

Introducing puppies to new things is always entertaining, and when it comes to new foods sometimes they aren't sure how to react to them. Marlee is a Golden Retriever puppy who brings a whole new meaning to playing with your food. Her mom shared a video of her with a tomato in mid-April, and it'll make you smile.

The video starts with Marlee's mom giving her a tomato. Marlee either doesn't realize it's food or maybe thinks that it's a new toy. Across the video mom wrote, "Anybody else's dog like to wrestle with tomatoes?" Watch as Marlee adorably 'wrestles' with the tomato and wait for the 'sike' towards the end!

She was so cute with her tomato! And so gentle with it when she put it in her mouth. We have a puppy (she's a mutt) who does the exact same thing with blueberries and carrots...she plays with them, puts them in her mouth, and pushes them around before finally eating them. It's like she treats them like they are balls!

People left more than a thousand comments about Marlee's video. @weratedogs said, "That tomato definitely started it." and another commenter added, "Did not realize that cherry tomatoes were such formidable adversaries LOL!" I couldn't help but laugh at @kayla.phillips01 who shared, "My kids have a similar reaction when I give them a vegetable." Mine do too!

Foods That Dogs Can (and Can't!) Have

Do you feed your dog human foods? I'm not talking about candy or processed foods that none of us should really eat, but the healthy stuff. Things like chicken and rice. Fruits and veggies and natural peanut butter. Berries and pumpkin. And of course, tomatoes. Wholesome, healthy foods can seem like a treat for dogs.

Many people open up their fridges and pantries to find treats to feed their dogs, and some even make their own dog food and treats right at home...some people even let their dogs help! There are several dog food and treats recipes here for you to check out. My kids love helping me make treats for our dog, and it is probably the only time in the kitchen they don't complain about helping!

But if you're not ready for that much work, there are some ways you can dress up boring kibble. Canned fish is a favorite, and it's good for your pooch. Another PetHelpful article shared, "Omega-3 fatty acids, abundant in salmon and known to reduce inflammation, may help maintain the health of your dog's skin and coat. The liquid from a can of tuna or salmon is also rich in smell and taste, making it a quick, easy, and appealing sauce to pour over your dog's food. Please remember you shouldn't give your dog raw salmon. That might contain a parasite known to cause salmon poisoning, a potentially fatal condition. Since canned fish is already cooked, those options and their liquid are safe and tasty."

I love experimenting and letting my dog try new foods! What healthy human foods does your dog like to eat?
