Golden Retriever Ignores ‘Be Quiet’ Memo When Dad Attempts to Put Baby Down for a Nap

If you're a parent, chances are you remember putting your babies down for naps, and then doing everything within your power to keep the house as quiet as possible so the baby wouldn't be woken up by noise. Unless you had more than one kid, and then you know that you have to get the baby used to sleeping through the noise! Beau is a Golden Retriever and big brother to his human brother, Frankie. Frankie's just a baby, and when dad puts him down for a nap, everybody stays quiet...except Beau!

Beau's dad posted a video on Thursday, August 15th of all the steps that happen before putting Frankie down for a nap. Drawing the blinds, turning on a soothing light and white noise machine, gently laying him down, and quietly closing the door. Dad tells Beau to stay quiet, but that's not exactly what happens!

This whole video was so relatable! I've done everything that the humans have done, and I feel like Beau represents all human kids and fur babies! The whole thing was too funny! Commenters got a kick out of the scene. @mathapeloooo joked, "I think he gets bored and misses Frankie LOL!" @KC Jones247 gets it, "Every single time!!!" as does @Jess, "My Golden loves playing with his squeaky toys during nap time." @Luvs Diapers even chimed in, "Dog playtime and baby playtime are never on the same schedule."

Gentle Reminder About Pets and New Babies

If you have human and fur babies, you know that the love we feel for our pets is just as strong as the love we feel for our children and loved ones. Pets become a part of our family, and they often grow up with our babies or become big brothers and sisters when our babies arrive. We had two West Highland Terriers when we brought home our first baby, and they were the best big sisters ever!

It's a touching moment to watch a pet meet your baby for the first time, and the love they feel for them is instant, just like ours. They're so gentle and protective right away...most of the time. Some pets are not super thrilled when that first baby comes home and disrupts the house! But they get used to them and fall in love with them eventually.

A gentle reminder that even if you feel like your pets are safe to have around a new baby, it's important to still monitor them. Babies tend to move quickly and without notice. They startle when sleeping, they kick, and they cry. For instance, babies grab. They grab hair, they pinch, and they hold on tightly. These things are all new to your fur baby and could scare them. None of this is one purpose of course, and if your baby surprises your pet by pulling their fur or ears, tails, etc., the pet may nip or scratch (or worse) in defense. Make sure you are paying attention to their interactions and never leave them unattended. Better to be safe than sorry.
