Golden Retriever Can't Keep His Eyes Open After Day Care Until He Hears His Favorite Words
You may have heard the old saying, "a tired dog is a happy dog," and for the most part--it's true! A dog who's spent his energy on running, playing, and sniffing around is much less likely to get into trouble or feel bored at home. It's not always easy to keep dogs busy, though, especially when we're balancing our own lives on top of our pets'. That's why many dogs like Enzo the Golden Retriever attend daycare!
This can be a great way for dogs to keep busy and socialize while their parents are at work, but when a dog has an especially great time at daycare, they may be too tired to keep their eyes open at home! That's precisely what happened to Enzo on August 9, but he still made his parents (and over 2 million viewers) giggle with his sleepy reaction to hearing his favorite words. Just try not to smile!
Aww! Enzo looks like such a sweet and squishy Golden Retriever. I wish I could cuddle with him after a long day of play, but I'll have to live vicariously through his lucky parents. By the sounds of their laughter, though, it sounds like they already know just how special their boy is. Even so, they couldn't resist messing with him just a little bit!

"Enzo’s not here right now," commented viewer @parttimesarah. "Please leave a dog treat after the beep." LOL! That perfectly sums up his sleepy (yet always hungry) vibe. Even if he's about to drift off into Dreamland, he'll happily wake himself back up if it means getting his paws on a snack. I get it, Enzo--I'm the same way!
Even though Labrador Retrievers are the ones most often known for their voracious appetites, other Retriever breeds can easily work up a need for snacking, too. Enzo certainly isn't the only dog who prioritizes food, and something tells me that he won't be the last, either.
Why Do Dogs Love Daycare?
Another thing that many dogs have in common is their love of going to daycare. When you think about it, it makes sense! At daycare or boarding, they get to meet new friends, smell new scents, and play for hours! Each daycare has its own structure, and dogs who prefer alone time will always have the option, but social butterflies like Enzo often come home ready to catch some Z's.
One commenter named Kelly knows exactly what I mean! She shared, "Our golden comes home from daycare, demands his dinner early, and puts himself to bed. They play so hard! He just loves it." That's so sweet! It sounds like he and Enzo would have so much fun playing together--after a nap and a treat, of course!
