A new board game based on PS5 hit God of War is in production, from CMON and Sony Santa Monica.

CMON has even revealed the first look at the game’s minis, featuring Kratos and his son Atreus. The game will be crowdfunded in the middle of 2024, and is pencilled in for a 2025 release.

CMON released God of War: The Card Game in 2019, and has worked on multiple high-profile board games based on video games, including Bloodborne and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as licences such as Stranger Things, Iron Maiden and Masters of the Universe.

“This game has been in the works for years, and I think both gamers and God of War fans will really like the end results,” said CMON SVP of US Operations, Geoff Skinner. “Our main goal was always: ‘Does this feel like God of War?’, and I think the designers did a tremendous job in that regard.

“Working with Santa Monica Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment has been an absolute dream, not only guiding us through the God of War setting, but also allowing us to bring the things we do best to the table,” he added.
