Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton served as co-hosts for the 58th ACM Awards. Thanks to the incredible duo, the show was filled with bawdy jokes and incredible music (including a new song from Dolly!), but one powerful moment brought the audience, and Garth himself, to tears.

The duo took the stage to pay tribute to the lives lost this year in the country music industry. Dolly talked poignantly about "two women that were like sisters to me," Loretta Lynn and Naomi Judd, both of whom died in 2022.

Garth said, "Dolly and I want to take a moment to remember those in our country music community that we lost this past year."

Dolly called Loretta "a coalminer's daughter, a hero, and one of the most important but still down-to-earth singer/songwriters in history. And of course, Naomi and I, we're the same age...and we love big hair (I still do) and we love that makeup, but, above all else, we loved each other."

"To all the ones that we loved, those unseen angels..." She then began singing her 1999 song, "Precious Memories."

Garth took off his hat and became visibly emotional as Dolly sang without accompaniment. The camera panned to the crowd as they took their feet. Ashley McBryde sang along, and Miranda Lambert and Morgane Stapleton held hands with tears in their eyes, and Randy Travis nodded along. Dolly finished by saying, "I just felt the urge to do that." Garth put his arm around her and said, "Jiminy Christmas, we're so lucky to have you in this format."

If you missed the incredible moment, you can still watch the awards show in its entirety on Prime Video. Dolly's tribute begins at the 1:21 mark.
