Gabby Petito’s father is remembering his late daughter.
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, Gabby's dad Joseph shared an emotional tribute to mark the third anniversary of her death.
“3 years ago this evening you were taken from us,” his caption read alongside a photo of himself and Gabby at Fish Spa Therapy. “We can’t stop crying when we think of you. There is no waking up from this nightmare.”
He added, “We push forward for you and all those you have inspired and nothing can make us stop. I ask anyone who reads this, please share a #missingperson flyer today. #EveryoneDeservesTheSameAttention#GabbyPetito#DomesticViolence#TogetherWeCan.”
In the image, Gabby and her father laughed with one another as they placed their feet in containers filled with water and fish at a fish pedicure spa.

Gabby was last heard from in August 2021 while on a cross-country road trip with her fiancé Brian Laundrie. Laundrie quietly returned to his parents' Florida home without Gabby on Sept. 1 and 10 days later she was reported missing. Laundrie was named a person of interest in Gabby's disappearance on Sept. 15.
Her body was found in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming on Sept. 19 and her death was ruled a homicide by a coroner, who determined that she had died of “manual strangulation.” She was 22 at the time.
The body of 23-year-old Laundrie was found at a North Port, Fla. park on Oct. 20. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Laundrie was named Gabby's killer in January 2022 after a notebook found near his remains included a written confession taking responsibility for her death.
Joseph also marked what would have been Gabby’s 25th birthday back in March by sharing the same photo of them at Fish Spa Therapy.
“Happy 25th birthday #GabbyPetito our angel. We love and miss you. 😢,” his caption read.
Meanwhile, in June, Joseph shared with PEOPLE how the Gabby Petito Foundation was supporting missing people of color.
“There’s a hierarchy when it comes to missing person fliers being shared,” he said. “Kids go first, then White women and then women of color.”
