Former 'Dancing with the Stars' Host Reveals Devastating Health Update

Samantha Harris has revealed a second breast cancer diagnosis, as posted on her Instagram.

The former Dancing with the Stars cohost shared the health update with her followers in a video. "I have some health news that I need to share that I never thought that I would be sharing again in my lifetime," she said, "but I have a recurrence of breast cancer. And I feel so fortunate to have been able to guide, support and lead so many of you in Your Healthiest Healthy community, and I will continue to do so, and I will fight on and I will be okay."

"I'm so grateful for my family and my close friends," she continued, "and as I lean on them, I also reach out to lean on you during this time, and I will continue to share more as my treatment plan unravels. I'll see you soon."

Harris co-hosted Dancing with the Stars alongside Tom Bergeron for eight seasons from 2006-2009. She departed the program in 2010 to focus on other projects, passing the reins to Brooke Burke. Following her time on the reality show, she served as a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight, serving as a co-anchor on the weekend edition in 2015.

In April 2014, Harris announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer and would undergo a double mastectomy. She underwent the procedure later that year, and announced in October that she was cancer-free. The doctors had discovered that her cancer had spread to her lymph nodes during the surgery. Since then, she has been a vocal proponent of women taking charge of their well-being, authoring the book Your Healthiest Healthy.
