Take a first-hand look at ‘Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience’

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is finally here.

The nighttime trail is nestled in the woodland forest of Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park. It’s an interactive experience for fans of everything Harry Potter, especially the films.

See this bedroom turn into a vibrant oasis after an incredible one-day renovation:

Created by Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment in partnership with Thinkwell, Unify and Fever, the event first launched in the U.K. Now it’s finally arrived in the U.S. by way of Westchester, New York, this cold season.

Visitors will go face-to-face with magical creatures, including the centaurs, unicorns, nifflers and hippogriffs featured in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises. Scenes they can recognize from the movies will play out right before their eyes. They’ll even be able to fight in a friendly wand battle with one another.

“That’s a brilliant one,” executive producer Heather McGill tells In The Know. “You can also cast a ‘Patronus’ in the forest, which is a really special moment, given that featured so highly in the films.”

After immersing themselves in the trail for about an hour, guests will enter a village with food and drinks inspired by the “Wizarding World.”

“The films, the books, and now having experiences such as this,” McGill says. “I think it’s timeless in the way that it speaks to audiences. I have small kids, and they adore the films, and they adore coming here as well.”

When: October 22 through January 2023, Monday through Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Where: Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park, 2957 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights, New York, 10598
