First Gran Turismo Movie Teaser Shows Off Lots and Lots of Race Cars
Sony unveiled the first teaser for its upcoming Gran Turismo movie on Wednesday night, giving fans their first look at what to expect from the video game franchise's take on the silver screen.
The one-minute clip isn't as much a trailer as it is a behind-the-scenes sneak peek to drum up hype. In addition to the cool collection of race car b-roll, there are soundbites from director Neill Blomkamp and a couple of the actors. There will be plenty of racing action, obviously, but the teaser promises plenty of drama and even a love story.
Gran Turismo will center around the true story of Jann Mardenborough (played by Archie Madekwe) who uses his gaming skills to achieve his dream of becoming a real race car driver through the game's GT Academy program. David Harbour, famous for his role in Stranger Things, will also have a major role.
Expect Gran Turismo to hit theaters on August 11, 2023.
