No: The Tortured Poets Department hasn't even come out yet.

Yes: Fans are already busy analyzing the songs based on literally their titles.

To the point where we have a break down of the theories behind every single song title on the tracklist over this way—but we're here to talk about "The Alchemy." And one very specific fan theory that has us completely jaw-dropped.

The theory in question points out that in Reputation, Lover, and Folklore, Taylor goes out of her way to mention love being golden. In "Dress" Tay sings "made your mark on me, a golden tattoo." In "Daylight" she mentions "I once believed love would be black and white but it's golden." And in "Invisible String," she says "a single thread of gold tied me to you."

But Taylor's attitude towards gold shifts on Evermore, when she sings "but I don't like a gold rush." Which brings us to "The Alchemy." The theory points out that alchemy is a process that people initially thought turned lead to gold, only to discover it merely changed the color. As the fan who came up with this work of speculative genius put it: "so the alchemy is about a fake love that looks real. Boom."

Truly, the way my mind is currently blown without even listening to this song yet.

Of course, this is just a (really good) theory, so stay tuned for the actual, ya know, lyrics to this song to see if it's really about ~fake love~.
