There's no place like home for the holidays, but booking a stay near the North Pole is a close second. This year, Airbnb and Visit Finland are joining forces to give one lucky family a free, three-night stay in Santa Claus' Cabin from December 18 through December 21. Nestled in Rovaniemi, Finland, this listing has a lot more to offer than the northern lights and lush tundra foliage. The rental has been reimagined to look just like Saint Nicholas' famous Arctic Circle abode.

Since spending time in the North Pole isn't all sipping hot chocolate and roasting chestnuts, guests will need to pull a shift in Santa's post office. (According to Airbnb, Santa’s Official Post Office is expected to receive over 30,000 letters daily from children and adults around the world this year!) Chief Elf and Airbnb host Katja will offer a crash-course in "elfing," teaching visitors how to do everything from sorting letters to referencing Santa's naughty and nice lists—and checking them twice!

"We’re thrilled that the Chief Elf has decided to share their space on Airbnb and invite a family to experience this unique festive stay, where they’ll help sort through Christmas letters from children worldwide and participate in unforgettable adventures like snowmobile excursions, northern lights sightings and traditional saunas—creating memories that will last a lifetime along the way," says Amanda Cupples, general manager of Northern Europe at Airbnb.

To add some extra magic to this special, three-night stay, Finnair is throwing in complimentary flights to Rovaniemi from London Heathrow Airport. Guests can try their luck at securing a stay at Santa Claus' Cabin on Monday, December 11 at 5:00 a.m. ET, but only one family will be checking in come December 18.

"There is nothing more magical than visiting Finland during the festive Christmas period—from taking in the wonder of the northern lights, strolling the festive streets, or enjoying the snowy white scenery," adds Heli Jimenez, Senior Director of International Marketing at Business Finland. "We’re delighted this family will get to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity as they work alongside Santa’s Chief Elf in her official post office.”

Don't worry, you don't have to nab stay at Santa's cabin for a merry and bright holiday. Santa Claus' Main Post Office is open to the public year-round, so you can always make a trip to the North Pole. And if your Christmas wish does come true, see more photos of the festive accommodations below.
