The first sign of summer means two things: It's time to schedule a pedicure ASAP, and you can finally whip out your favorite summer sandals (or buy some more). Summer shoes for women are the most fun to shop for (imho), and even more comfortable to wear, since brands understand that summer 'fits are all about looking good without the pain.

"In the summer, the heels get a bit more comfortable for occasion versus something like]a bigger stiletto in the winter months," says Lucy Aylen, stylist and founder of Never Fully Dressed. That doesn't mean you need to skip out on heels completely. Block heels and kitten heels are trendy summer options that are actually comfy. "I love the return of the kitten heel. This is music to my ears being 5’11. It makes an outfit more understated for a cool girl glam look," Aylen says.

Other trends you can look out for this summer are chunky sandals with a print clash, platform soles, and, as always, lightweight sneakers. This season's it-girl is the Veja sneaker. "A sneaker goes with everything from the dressiest of dresses at a wedding to a more relaxed [look] for work or the weekend," Aylen says.

"I wore these shoes to Coachella and loved that I could just rinse off the sand and dirt they collected in the California desert when I got back to the hotel. They were as good as new," says Gomez.

"I love wearing these Crocs to run errands, especially on my quick trips to the bodega. I've had two neighbors compliment me on their look, and one even bought the shoes for working on her feet all day as a hair stylist. Get them," says Gomez.

Pair these with a pair of short white socks, a black midi skirt, and a light tee for an easy, grungy, and sophisticated look without any discomfort or hassle.
