Dr. Dre Wants to Compete on USA Archery Team at 2028 Olympics and 'Win the Gold Medal': 'I'm Dead-Ass Serious'

"I feel like I could do anything," said the rapper and executive, who's been practicing archery since childhood, ahead of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles

Dr. Dre is coming for the gold with his bow and arrow.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the rapper and music executive, 59, expressed interest in competing on the USA Archery Team at the 2028 Olympics in his native Los Angeles — and he's been practicing for quite some time.

"I’m trying to tryout for the Olympics in 2028," said Dre, visibly surprising the ET reporter. "I’m dead-ass serious."

The Beats Electronics founder explained he "started playing around with archery in junior high" but eventually "stopped for a while" before getting back into the sport more recently.

"My son bought me a set-up. I don’t know if it was for my birthday or Father’s Day or something like that, so I have it set up in my backyard," added Dre, born Andre Romell Young. "And I heard qualifying for the Olympics is 77 feet, and I practice at 90."

"Wouldn't that be interesting to go, especially with it being here in L.A., and win the gold medal?" he asked confidently. "I feel like I could do anything."

Elsewhere in the interview, Dre offered his thoughts on the debut of breakdancing as a medal sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics — and seemingly addressed Australian competitor Raygun's viral moves.

"I did not like that. It’s so many great breakdancers, I don’t know why they had this particular person doing that," he said.

"It was funny," continued the "I Need a Doctor" artist. "I got some laughs out of it, but what the f---? There are incredible breakdancers out right now. I don’t know how that happened."

Dre isn't the only celebrity to offer his thoughts on the 2024 Olympics' breakdancing competition. Adele spoke about Raygun's routine at her Aug. 10 concert in Munich, Germany, and said she was the "best" part of the Summer Games.

The "Someone Like You" singer called the addition of breaking to the Olympic Games “f---ing fantastic" and admitted she “can’t work out if” the Aussie dancer’s routine was a joke. "But either way, it has made me very very happy," Adele said.

“Me and my friends have been s---ting ourselves laughing for 24 hours,” she added. "If you haven’t seen it, please leave the show and Google it, ‘cause it is LOLs."
