Couple Reportedly Accused of Trying to Sell Newborn Twins for $5,000 — and Relative Claims Screenshots Prove It

Zachary Davis and Jacquilyn Keith have been charged with human trafficking

Authorities arrested and charged a Kentucky couple last week after they allegedly tried to sell their newborn twins to a relative for thousands of dollars, according to multiple reports.

An investigation into Zachary Davis and Jacquilyn Keith began after Davis’ sister-in-law told police that the Jackson County parents consented to selling their newborn daughters to her for $5,000, according to an arrest report cited by WAFB, the Associated Press, and Fox 13. The AP reports the couple was arrested on March 18.

The relative also reportedly offered police screenshots and a video of the alleged conversation to back up her claims.

During questioning, the couple allegedly acknowledged the agreed-upon deal but stated that they would not follow through, the police report states, according to WAFB.

According to the AP, the report states that the father acknowledged that he had “joked around” about selling the babies, and the mother said she wasn’t serious on a video in which discusses the attempted sale.

Davis and Keith were subsequently charged with human trafficking and are being held in the Jackson County Detention Center.

It's unclear if they have entered pleas or retained attorneys to speak on their behalf.
