Costco's Most Popular Sleeper Sofa Is Getting Dragged on Social Media

When popular Instagram account @costcohotfinds posted a video of Costco’s new sleeper sectional, the account administrator, Laura, was not expecting the comment section roasting to come. Since Monday, the post has ignited a frenzy of over three thousand comments—most from unhappy customers warning potential buyers to stay away from the convertible sectional that, at first glance, seems perfect for movie nights.

The couch in question? The Coddle Aria Fabric Sleeper Sectional, which bills itself as a multifunctional pull-out sleeper sofa with a bonus loveseat. The chaise lifts up to reveal a hidden storage compartment, and also features two power outlets and USB ports. Costco's official website boasts it has five stars. The perfect sofa for small apartments and sleeping extra guests? Think again!

Instagram user @megamichaelman, who happened to be lounging on the very couch in question when she saw the post, wrote: "Ok, pause. I have this exact couch and am sitting on it right now. I HATE it! Sleeping on river stones would be so much more comfortable than this crap." Many agreed, with the comment garnering over 100 likes.

Disappointed buyer @payneful76 confirmed, "This looks really cool. But I had to return mine. It's made poorly. The spring popped in the cushion within 2 weeks. Such a bummer." The critics were off to the races, with comments like "Don't bother. You will be sorry," "2/10, would not buy again," and "It's the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I've ever bought" flooding in and painting a grim picture for prospective buyers.

Costco delivery worker @chief_dabz420 chimed in, revealing insider knowledge: "I work delivering these for Costco and they suck. People always return them."

One optimist offers a potential solution, saying, "Get a memory foam topper! I just put the topper on when I have guests and it's just as nice as my bed."

Social media peanut gallery aside, Costco's official listing for the sectional issues a warning that "this product can expose you to wood dust." All things considered, that might just be the least of the sectional's problems.
