CoComelon is taking learning to new heights with the help of Keke Palmer and friends!
In PEOPLE's exclusive first look at CoComelon Classroom, the beloved children's learning show goes live-action for the very first time. The new series will blend animation with live action, "bringing to life the wholesome world and characters of CoComelon," according to a press release.
"Little ones will love the show’s fun activities and catchy music, while parents can feel confident about its special focus on English-language early learning," the release continued.
Juliana Urtubey, a real-life educator and 2021 teacher of the year, will take on the role of Ms. Appleberry and Palmer will be the first of many celebrity friends kids will meet along the way.
"We love CoComelon in my home, so I was so very excited to get inside the CoComelon Classroom,” the Nope actress said in a statement. “I love laughing, singing, and playing with my son as we learn and when we watch CoComelon I can feel how much thought and care goes into each learning lesson. I can’t wait to watch this episode with my son – we’ll definitely be singing along with Ms. Appleberry!”
Each episode will delight "viewers with a surprise" as Ms. Appleberry and her special guests discover "What’s inside the Melon Learning Box?", an unboxing segment where "young viewers can learn through play, encouraging them to tap into their imagination and curiosity."

Urtubey exclusively tells PEOPLE how her decades-long experience as an educator has prepared her to take on the historic role of Ms. Appleberry.
"I am a real-life teacher to this day," she smiles. While Urturbey no longer teaches children but other teachers, she shares how she tries to "sneak into classrooms as much as possible to play with little ones." Now that her classroom will reach all corners of the world, Urturbey shares her excitement for kids and parents to participate in new learning.
"[CoComelon Classroom] is designed to really move at the pace a little one needs to move at," she explains. "It's designed for them to feel a deep connection, a deep warmth in the classroom. Ideally, families will get to watch this together and interact and do the imaginative play together."
Urtubey continues, "I really think that it'll be something that's delightful for children, for them to expand their curiosity, expand their learning, and really hit some of those really important early learning milestones that children need to hit and a way that they don't even know they're learning."

In a trailer for the new series, Urtubey makes her introduction as Ms. Appleberry as she gets kids excited to make "new friends" and engage in "imaginative learning."
Children can get excited about the many surprises in store, and the Melon Learning Box proves to contain unexpected treats like bubbles, puppets and various animals.
