Clark Hunt's 3 Kids: All About the Kansas City Chiefs Owner's Daughters Grace and Ava and Son Knobel
Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and his wife Tavia Shackles Hunt share two daughters, Gracie and Ava, and one son, Knobel
When Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt isn’t busy helping organize one of the NFL’s most beloved teams, he’s raising his three children alongside his wife Tavia Shackles Hunt.
The Chiefs CEO married Tavia in 1993, and the pair have since welcomed three children: Gracie, Knovel and Ava. Their daughters, Gracie and Ava, were born on the same day six years apart, 1999 and 2005, respectively, while their son, Knobel, was born in 2002.
“I would say we are very, very close, and I mean we talk every day if we don’t see each other every single day,” Tavia told KSHB in September 2022. “I just think our faith, our values and our deep love for each other.”

While Gracie has followed in her mom’s footsteps as a pageant queen, Knobel and Ava have lived more out of the public eye while attending and starting college, respectively.
From their respective sports (spoiler: no football!) to their commitment to their father’s alma mater, here’s everything to know about Clark Hunt’s kids.
Gracie Hunt, 25
Gracie was born on March 29, 1999, in Dallas. Like her mother, Gracie grew up to become a pageant queen, winning Miss Texas Teen International in 2016 and 2018 and Miss Kansas USA in 2021.
"She tells me, 'Just be you. You are enough,' " Gracie told PEOPLE (the TV Show!) in a 2021 episode on advice she’s gotten from her mother, who was Miss Missouri Teen USA in 1990 and Miss Kansas USA in 1993. "It's really nice to get to walk down a road with someone who has been down that path before. It really has just bonded us so much."
Though she grew up in a football family — Clark inherited the Chiefs from his father, Larry Hunt — she had a passion for soccer growing up. She played the sport throughout high school and planned to continue in college until four concussions stopped her career.
While she inherited an affinity for pageantry from her mother, soccer was a skill that actually came from her father, who played the sport for Southern Methodist University.
“Soccer helped build my relationship with my dad. He was my first coach when I was little and those are sweet memories I’ll always cherish,” she told Maxim in 2023.
Gracie continued in her father’s footsteps when she became a student at SMU herself where she studied sports management and broadcast journalism. After graduating, Gracie chose to continue her education with a master’s degree from the University of Kansas.
Now, she works alongside her father, helping the Chiefs with marketing and brand development.
“I love working in sports and I see myself being involved in one capacity or another throughout my life, but I have also loved getting to pursue my own ventures and see where that takes me,” she said in a 2023 Q&A with Interview Magazine.
As the daughter of the Chiefs owner, Gracie has befriended some high-profile celebrities, including Taylor Swift, who has been dating Chiefs tight endTravis Kelce since 2023.
“Happy birthday to this queen!💖 Bright, beautiful, beyond talented and engaging…easiest decision Time Magazine ever made for Person of the Year,” Gracie wrote in a birthday tribute for Swift in December 2023. “Hope it’s your best & most blessed year yet!🫶🏼.”
Knobel Hunt, 22
Clark and Tavia’s only son, Knobel, was born on July 15, 2002, in Dallas. He was named after his grandmother, Norma Knobel Hunt, who died in 2023.
Like his sister and father, Knobel chose to attend SMU, where he plays on the soccer team. In November 2023, Tavia celebrated Knobel and his teammates’ AAC Men’s Soccer regular season championship win.
Knobel studies finance in the college’s business school and has held a number of internships with investment firms, according to his LinkedIn.
Knobel has joined his siblings at a number of events and games throughout the football season, including the NFL Honors in February 2020.
While the only Hunt son is more private, his mom frequently posts photos of him and her daughters on Instagram, including a sweet birthday tribute in July 2024.
“Your love for the Lord, wit, humor, intelligence and problem-solving abilities are some of the things I love most about you,” Tavia wrote in the caption alongside a carousel of photos of Knobel. “Your hard work, loyalty, dedication to responsibilities, and the way you cheer on others, sets you apart. Even amidst your challenging, busy schedule, your spirit shines bright, and you’re always the life of the party.”
Ava Hunt, 19
The youngest Hunt was born on the same day as her older sister, but six years later, on March 29, 1999. Though Ava didn’t go down the soccer route like her siblings, she did pick up another sport: cheerleading.
In March 2024, Ava committed to SMU to be a cheerleader for the school, joining her brother there in the fall.
“It’s official!! So beyond thankful for the opportunity to keep doing what I love! Pony up!! ❤️💙,” Ava wrote in the caption announcing her commitment.
The 19-year-old wrapped up the end of her senior year with her spring formal and graduation in May 2024. She joined her family for the Chiefs' visit to the White House the following month.
In July 2024, Ava had an accident in which she “fell down a mountain,” according to her mom’s Instagram Stories and injured her leg, ultimately requiring surgery.
“This little thang fell down the mountain today on a hike & went to the ER for surgery on a deep wound," Tavia wrote on her Instagram Stories. "It’s been a looong day. Praise God she’s in recovery and already smiling. Please pray for a quick and complete recovery."
Ava shared an update soon after that she was already recovering and was watching Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles compete at the Paris Summer Olympics.
“Update: surgery went very smoothly and I’m back at home watching my favorite @simonebiles!! I’m feeling great (but I might still be a little drugged up) Thank you for all of your sweet messages and prayers,” she wrote on her own Instagram Stories.
