Watch a Trailer for the Great American Baking Show

The Great British Baking Show is coming to America—sort of. The American spinoff of the hit British series filmed in the iconic tent in the United Kingdom, include British judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, but include two American hosts and feature American contestants.

Here's everything we know so far about the Great American Baking Show.

Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry will co-host the show.

Ellie Kemper, of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Office, and Zach Cherry, who currently stars in Severance, will be the show's co-hosts. Cherry retweeted the announcement with two emojis: a chef and a loaf of bread.

"We could not ask for a more perfect duo than Ellie and Zach to co-host The Great American Baking Show," Brian Tannenbaum, head of alternative originals at Roku, said in a statement. "Our adaptation of the iconic series will continue to dish out the enduring warmth and humor that fans of the Baking Show universe love, with a twist that we know Ellie and Zach will deliver."

He continued, "The passion that fans have for this franchise is unmatched, and we’re so honored to kick off production with Love Productions USA."

This is not the first American edition of Bake Off.

In 2013, CBS aired The American Baking Competition, a licensed spinoff, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy and featuring Paul Hollywood and Mexican American chef Marcela Valladolid as judges.

In 2015, The Great American Baking Show premiered on ABC, hosted by Nia Vardalos and Ian Gomez, and judged by Mary Berry and American pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini. Season three was then hosted Ayesha Curry and former NFL star Anthony Adams, but following sexual harassment allegations against Iuzzini, ABC pulled the rest of the season off air. In season four (2018), Emma Bunton—a.k.a. Baby Spice—stepped in as host alongside Adams, and Paul Hollywood and American chef Sherry Yard as judges, and they returned for a fifth season in 2019. The show also aired under the title The Great Holiday Baking Show.

A special holiday edition of the competition premiered in December 2022.

The Great American Baking Show: Celebrity Holidays will stream on December 2, and feature celebrities Marshawn Lynch, Chloe Fineman, D'Arcy Carden, Liza Koshy, Joel Kim Booster, and Nat Faxon. Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry will also host this special edition, and Prue and Paul will judge.
