Blake Lively Shows Up to ‘It Ends with Us’ Premiere Rocking Iconic Versace Dress Once Worn by This Pop Icon

Blake Lively has been killing it with her flower-inspired ensembles for the press tour of her upcoming movie It Ends with Us, which is based on the best-selling book by Colleen Hoover. (I mean, these floral denim jeans?! So fab.) But the 36-year-old- actress might have just outdone herself after she showed up to the It Ends with Us premiere in New York City on Tuesday, August 6, rocking a sparkly colorful number previously worn by the one and only Britney Spears.

According to People, the It Ends with Us star popped out wearing the same Versace vintage dress the “Circus” singer donned back in 2002. The dazzling off-the-shoulder gown features a detailed floral design with a bright pink, yellow and blue hue across the exterior. She tied the entire look together with a pair of colorful dangling earrings and silver sky-high heels.

Lively even caught up with the People at the premiere and shared how she felt “so lucky” to wear the iconic dress. “It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met. But it's on me. I feel so lucky!” the actress told the outlet.

After the event, Lively took a moment to pay homage to Spears on her Instagram Story, where she posted a throwback snap of the pop princess wearing the timeless Versace dress. The Gossip Girl alum captioned the photo, “Today’s mood. The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories.”

The mother of four continued, “Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work. Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories.”

In the movie adaptation of It Ends with Us (which hits theaters on August 9), Lively plays the role of Lily Bloom, who is the proud owner of a flower shop called Lily’s Blooms. (Hence Lively’s flower-themed press outfits.)
