The time has finally arrived to enjoy dropping prices on thousands of products. That's correct; it is finally Amazon Prime Day 2023 and the savings extravaganza has begun. This annual sales event is the perfect opportunity to stock up on household essentials, replace worn-out appliances, and treat yourself to something you've been eyeing to buy. When is Prime Day this year?
Prime Day 2023 will be Tuesday, July 11, and Wednesday July 12. But be warned; Amazon will not be the only retailer sharing sales during this time. You can expect to see discounted prices in the days leading up to and post-Prime Day.
What will be on sale on Prime Day?
You can expect price drops on millions of items. In recent years, Amazon has focused on discounts for their products, including Fire Stick, Echo Dot and Fire Tablets, plus the hundreds of items under the Amazon Essentials umbrella. You'll find sale prices in all categories as Amazon sellers can discount their products, but you can surely expect the Home & Tech categories to see many price cuts.
Do I need to do anything ahead of time?
First things first, start making a list of items you've been thinking about buying. Whether you need to replace something or buy something completely new, have a list to reference when the actual deals start dropping. It can be a bit overwhelming to browse onsite, so we suggest going in with a plan and using the search function to see what's discounted.
How will I know what's on sale?
Amazon's time-limited or Lightning deals will be one way to know what's on sale, but they are not unique to Prime Day. Lightning deals are always available under the Today's Deals section, but hundreds more are available during the shopping event. These deals have a limited time and a set quantity, so the discounted prices end when the clock runs out or when the item's stock does.
But these time-restricted deals are not the only ones you'll find during the two-day event. Amazon sets deals live on a rolling basis to keep you coming back.
What other stores will have Prime Day deals?
Virtually all digital stores offer some promotion to compete, and it's worth doing a little price comparison before checking out. We've seen some better prices off Amazon during Prime Day. Check retailers like Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Wayfair, Overstock.com and more.
What were the best-selling products last year?
Worldwide there were more than 300 million products sold during Prime Day 2022. Amazon Devices, Consumer Electronics, and Home products were the best-selling categories, while the Fire TV, Echo, and Blink devices were top sellers on Amazon in the US.
Are there any deals happening right now?
