Jenn Tran is shifting her focus from the rose ceremony to the ballroom.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, Tran was announced as part of the cast of Dancing with the Stars season 33. The season 21 Bachelorette tells PEOPLE she's "excited" to jump right in — but given the dance competition show's history of sparking showmances, she has no expectations of her own dance floor romance.

"I'm still very much going through a healing process," she says, before joking, "Right now, I hate men, so..."

Her partner, Sasha Farber, is the only exception to that rule. "Besides you," she tells him. "I hate all men besides you."

The physician's assistant student is fresh off a heartbreaking ending to her season of The Bachelorette. On the Sept. 3 season finale, fans learned that she and Devin Strader had gotten engaged in Hawai'i in May, only to break up just weeks before the finale aired.

Train said on After the Final Rose that "things were just different" and she felt Strader "was pulling away all the promises that he had made to me." In August, he called and "broke off the engagement," telling her "he didn't love me anymore."

She tells PEOPLE it's been an "overwhelming" 24 hours following the finale's premiere, and she's been experiencing "a very large range of emotions."

"It's a healing process but right now I'm just so excited for this new opportunity and kinda just being able to jump into something different and something that I've always been wanting to do."

Tran says she's "stoked" to join the DWTS "family" — and she's particularly happy with her partner.

"Honestly, I'm just so excited. He's been great so far," she says of Farber, 40. "I think we have a really good thing going so I'm excited."

She admittedly has a lot to learn, though. "I took one ballroom dancing class in college and we're gonna see where it goes. I've always wanted to learn."
