Things change when there's a baby in the house. You and your partner get less sleep, chores don't get finished — even your pets seem to alter when there's a newborn around. In one household, their two Dachshunds have definitely changed with the new baby. They're now pretty much real-life "baby monitors," as a video online hilariously shows.

The dogs are keeping a very close eye on their human sibling.

Half baby monitor, half alarm clock George and Remi managed to wrangle their human into the baby's room when the little one had woken up. So cute! The Dachshunds even led the way to the baby's room. It was like the person had their own personal escort.

"When they 'baby monitors' let you know the baby is awake," the video's onscreen caption states.

The dogs even looked back at their owner like, "hey, are you gonna do something here? Hello, the baby is awake!"

Commenters loved how protective the two dogs were. "They each gave a sniff check, that’s their baby," wrote one person. "Imagine that little snout waking you up," someone else gushed. "Our babies awake!" joked a third commenter. "This gave me 'Lady and the Tramp' Disney vibes and I’m here for it," one woman pointed out.

Dogs and Babies Have a Special Relationship

George and Remi's devotion to the infant shouldn't surprise anyone. Dogs have very special relationships with their humans — especially babies.

Dogs have a very strong "pack drive," meaning they like to bond with other creatures and be part of a group. In a household, dogs will bond with their humans and become part of their pack. Therefore when a new baby arrives, they'll see it as a part of the pack too. One that needs a lot of protecting.

In fact, dogs are sort of smitten with babies. They spend lots of time together. And some households will have babies and puppies at the same time, meaning they'll practically grow up like siblings. This is beneficial for both the human child and the puppy, as both will have the desire for a playmate.

Dogs do need to be taught how to be gentle around babies however. Especially if they're a bigger dog. Dogs might react to a baby's cries, so it's important that you keep a calm and protective demeanor around the little one so they'll take your cue.

Other than that, dogs and babies are a match made in heaven. There's pretty much nothing that a pup wouldn't do for his baby BFF.
