A 6-year-old girl is being praised as a hero after saving her family from a house fire.

Olivia Patterson was playing outside when she noticed flames coming from the roof of her home in North Yorkshire, England on April 4, according to U.K. newspaperThe Times.

Per the outlet and Yorkshire Live, Olivia’s mum Laura, 29, was sleeping on the couch with her two younger siblings Joel-James, 1, and Tiffany, 2, when she ran into her home shouting, “Wake up mom — wake up the babies.”

The family managed to escape the fire, which started in the house next door and spread to the upstairs of the family’s three-bedroom home, unharmed.

Heaping praise on her “amazing” granddaughter, Olivia’s grandmother Sadie Gelder, 54, told The Times, “We are absolutely so proud of her. She’s got ADHD so she’s been absolutely amazing. We can’t believe Olivia got Laura out — she’s six years old and ran into a burning building.”

“She looked up and saw a fire blazing upstairs … she was shouting, ‘Wake up mom, the house is on fire — wake up the babies.’ The people in the street didn’t think anyone was in because there wasn’t a car on the drive,” Gelder continued, adding that the family lost almost all their possessions in the fire.

“They managed to get a few of the baby’s clothes but everything else has gone,” she said. “People have been donating beds, bedding and towels — things like that. She should be getting another council house but it’s all the little things … to help her build everything back up.”

Laura and her children are now staying in an Airbnb, reported the York Press.

According to multiple outlets, an investigation into the fire is ongoing. The family have been told it may have been started by a phone charger, per the outlet. PEOPLE has reached out to the North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service for comment.

A GoFundMe page set up to support the family by some of Laura’s former colleagues had reached over £4000 (approximately $4994) in donations as of the morning of Monday, April 15.
