Liberty Hill softball player Aubri Ettinger voted Austin-area Girls Athlete of the Week

Liberty Hill softball player Aubri Ettinger, who pitched both of the Panthers' wins over Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial in their Class 5A regional semifinals series, was voted the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-Area Girls Athlete of the Week for May 13-18.

Ettinger received 51.5% of the vote. The Westwood tennis doubles team of Anwi Duduka and Dana Kardonik, along with Taylor tennis player Rylee Michna, the Burnet doubles team of Tatum Salinas and Alyssa Van Zandt, and Hyde Park softball player Carina Stout also were candidates.

Vandegrift golfer Swetha Satish won the previous poll, for May 6-11.

The American-Statesman conducted weekly votes for Boys Athlete of the Week and Girls Athlete of the Week throughout the academic year.
