LG Energy donates $20K to Holland fire, police

HOLLANDLG Energy Solution has donated $20,000 to the Holland Department of Public Safety.

The donation was split in half — $10,000 for the Holland Fire Department's Operation Home Safety and $10,000 to the Holland Police Department’s Community Policing Fund.

Chief of Public Safety Services Matt Messer said the donation is greatly appreciated and will have a direct impact on the local community.

“Every dollar will be used to help support our community members by assisting with new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, home safety equipment, lodging for fire and crime victims, and a wide variety of day-to-day quality of life needs and necessities,” Messer wrote in a release.

The donation comes as LG continues to build and expand operations in the city, including a recently announced $81 million renovation project on its original 240,000-square-foot building.

The company is finalizing a $1.7 billion expansion, with another $2.5 billion project in the planning stages.
