Nearly six months after making its official debut, buyers finally have a chance to spec out the 2024 Lexus GX 550 of their dreams. Lexus has published the full configurator for the off-road-focused SUV on their website, complete with a near colorless exterior paint palette and nearly 100 accessories from the factory.

With the rise of off-roading and overlanding in recent years, the GX 550 is one of the more anticipated vehicles coming for 2024. Based on the same TNGA-F platform as the LX 600, Toyota Sequoia, and 300-Series Land Cruiser, every GX 550 will come equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic. Despite Toyota labeling them with different displacements, this is the same engine as the “3.5-liter” V-6 found in those platform mates. The engine provides 349 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, which helps the SUV achieve a maximum towing capacity of up to 8000 lbs. The real goodies come by way of the full-time 4x4 system and optional adaptive suspension, however.

The GX 550 lineup starts with the Premium trim, which carries an MSRP of $64,250 including destination. Customers will be able to choose from seven exterior and three interior colors, all of which come free of charge. The exterior palette is full of earthy tones and grays, which is to be expected from a luxury brand like Lexus. The base model’s pricing should also allow customers to set some cash aside for the 96 accessories that Lexus has on offer, including dozens of overlanding goods from ARB, Dometic, Yakima, and Kurgo.

Speaking of the off-road parts, Lexus has also created two dedicated trims for the trail seekers among us. The Overtrail model is the more affordable of the two, starting at $69,250 with destination. The package includes the brand’s Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, larger 33-inch tires, as well as Lexus’ suite of off-road software. The Overtrail+ model adds more luxury to the combination, with front massaging seats and auto-braking and pedestrian detection. You’ll have to pony up $77,250 for that one, however. These models also benefit from some unique two-tone paint jobs, which add some blacked-out elements to the familiar color offerings.

The Premium+ model adds a few amenities over the standard model, including second-row heated seats, and LED fog lamps to sharpen the look. There are no additional packages available when you step up to the Premium+, which starts at $69,250 with destination. The Luxury trim, which starts at $77,250, brings a ton of extra features compared to the lower models. These include highlights such as upsized 22-inch wheels, front seats with heat, ventilation, and massage functionality, and semi-aniline leather–trimmed interior bits. The GX 500 Luxury+ is the priciest of the new models, carrying an MSRP of $81,250 with destination. For that money, you get all of the Luxury model content, as well as a bumping 21-speaker Mark Levinson stereo, the adaptive variable suspension setup, and a digital rearview mirror.

Let us know down below how you’d spec out a GX 500, and don’t forget to specify what shade of earthy gray looks best to you.
