McLaren brought the good stuff to this weekend's Velocity Invitational at Laguna Seca. First, the team let Mario Andretti, you know, the 82-year-old greatest driver of all time, take a few laps in a 2013 MP4/28a. A dream come true. But then Pato O'Ward, McLaren's wonderful to watch IndyCar driver, got a chance in Senna's MP4/5B, and he really took advantage of the opportunity.

This helmet cam video, from our own Marshall Pruett, show's Pato's laps in the legendary machine, the car Senna drove to his 1990 world championship. It's powered by a Honda V-10, a reminder that McLaren and Honda once had a fruitful relationship and not one of antagonism and failure.

The joy here is just listening to that wail and watching Pato drive a car that moves around quite a bit in braking and every stage of the corner. His driving style is usually on edge, and even during these laps, where he's not pushing all that hard, it's easy to see just how much attention this car demanded from the driver.

Good stuff.
