Lenawee County teams ready to take on MHSAA girls soccer districts

Not since 2021 has a Lenawee County girls soccer team advanced out of districts in the MHSAA playoffs.

Lenawee Christian won a Division 4 district title three years ago, but perhaps this is the season the skid comes to an end with many area teams having strong seasons.

Here's a look at the district matchups for the Lenawee County teams:

Division 2 at Chelsea

Both Adrian and Tecumseh are in action this week to begin district play.

The Maples come in hotter than any team around, winning nine-straight and going 11-0-2 in their last 13 games and champions of the SEC White for the first time.

At 12-4-3, Adrian is one win shy of tying last season's team for the most wins in a single-season in program history. The Maples play at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at home against Ypsilanti, which Adrian has beaten 8-1 in both games this season.

If the Maples win, they'll take on the host Bulldogs at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Adrian split with Chelsea in the season series, winning 3-1 in the most recent matchup on May 1.

Tecumseh takes on Pinckney at 5 p.m. Wednesday at home. Tecumseh (5-12-2), lost both games against the Pirates this season, 8-0.

If Tecumseh pulls off the upset, it'll see Dexter at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Chelsea.

The final is at noon Saturday, June 1 back in Chelsea.

Division 3 at Columbia Central

Onsted is 10-8 this season, the most wins for the Wildcats in recent memory.

Onsted will begin district play at 5 p.m. Wednesday against a winless Stockbridge program on the road. If the Wildcats advance, they'll play at 5 p.m. again on Wednesday against Milan at Columbia Central.

The final is at 5 p.m. Friday, May 31 back at Columbia Central.

Division 4 at Manchester

Lenawee Christian has had another strong season, after staring out 1-3 the Cougars finished 8-4 and concluded the regular season with a three-game winning streak.

LCS begins play at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at home against Brighton Livingston, which has had a strong 10-3 season.

If the Cougars get the win, they'll see the host Flying Dutch at 4 p.m. Tuesday. LCS lost to Manchester, 2-1, on May 9, it was the Cougars' last loss of the season.

Blissfield has had a strong season with a mark of 11-3. The Royals play at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at 3-15 Brighton Charyl Stockwell.

If Blissfield advances, it'll see league rival Clinton, which steamrolled through the LCAA, at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Manchester. Clinton won both meetings with the Royals had has won six-straight games.

The final is at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at Manchester.
