Lenawee County sports May 6-11

We're fully in May now and the school year and spring seasons are nearing an end.

Here's a look at Lenawee County sports for the week of May 6-11:

MONDAY

Baseball

Adrian at Ypsilanti (DH)

The Maples pulled a half-game ahead of Tecumseh for first in the SEC White as they swept Ypsilanti, 17-0 and 18-0.

Sean Parker tossed a no-hitter in Game 1, striking out eight, while Solomon Hiatt went 3-for-4 with a triple, double and three RBIs. Gary Kemerer added a double.

Tristan Hayes tossed a no-hitter as well, striking out six in Game 2. Hayes also had two hits, as did DJ Ott, while Hiatt added a double.

Pinckney at Tecumseh (DH)

Tecumseh split the first two games of the SEC White series, winning 5-1 in Game 1 before falling 4-2.

Tyler Clement went 6.2 innings and gave up a run and struck out three in the win while Max Bledsoe was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run. Clement was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Ramiro Perez was 2-for-2 and Rocco Williams hit a double with a run.

Logan Smith took the loss in Game 2 while Bryan Covel and Perez each had two hits.

Blissfield 7, Summerfield 0

BLISSFIELD — The Royals won a non-league game, beating the Bulldogs in a shutout.

Dove Eitzen got the win with a complete game, allow three hits while striking out four. Ethan Stines went 4-for-4 with a triple and a double while Kipp Fisher was 3-for-3.

Lenawee Christian 5, Waldron 3

ADRIAN — The Cougars got a non-league win as they beat Waldron at home.

Gabe Miller went 2-for-2 with two RBIs while Zyan Breznik tossed 2.2 shutout innings, allowing one hit and a walk while striking out five.

Madison at Jackson Northwest (DH)

The Trojans split a non-conference doubleheader with the Mounties, losing 5-4 before taking the nightcap, 4-3.

Cam Grof took the loss in Game 1 before Norman Frederick got the start in Game 2 before Brian Dopp got the win in relief.

Dopp struck out five in in three innings while also collecting two hits, including a triple, and driving in two runs. Frederick also had two hits with an RBI.

Addison at Jonesville (DH)

The Panthers lost both Games 1 and 2 of the three game Cascades West Division set to the Comets, 11-2 and 13-3.

Drew Spink went 4.2 innings and gave up 10 runs (two earned), on five hits and four walks while striking out seven in Game 1 before Jacob Wright took the Game 2 loss.

Litchfield at Morenci (DH)

The Bulldogs dropped a pair of non-league games to Litchfield, 5-2 and 8-1.

Jonas Castillo took the loss with eight strikeouts while also recording two hits with a double in Game 1 while Zachary Stevens hit a double as well.

Stevens added two more hits in Game 2 while Blake Moran took the loss.

Softball

Pinckney at Tecumseh (DH)

Tecumseh picked up two big SEC White wins as it swept the Pirates, 12-11 and 14-3.

Tecumseh rallied for six runs in the bottom of the seventh in Game 1, capped with a two-run single for Lucy Whelan as she went 5-for-6 with two triples, two RBIs and three runs. Lauren Kilbarger had four hits and two RBIs while Jessie Wilkinson had two hits and an RBI, Natalie Petty had two with three RBIs and Wendy Ketola had two hits and two runs.

Emma Leitner got the win in relief.

Game 2 the bats kept rolling Wilkinson going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs, Emma Eldred going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs, Kilbarger added three more hits, Leitner had two and Bella Juozapaitis went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Ella Sattler got the win as she went five innings and gave up three runs, on seven hits and a strikeout.

Pittsford at Morenci (DH)

Morenci swept Pittsford in a pair of mercy wins, 14-0 and 12-2.

Addyson Valentine got the win in both, striking out 18 and giving up five hits across the two games.

Ella Pierce and Gracie Snead each had two hits in Game 1 while Avery Varga doubled in Game 2.

Addison at Jonesville (DH)

The Panthers dropped a pair of Cascades Conference West Division games, falling to the Comets 15-6 and 14-3.

Lexi and Laci Patterson both hit a double while Keira Wheaton took the loss in Game 1. Laci Patterson hit a solo home run in Game 2 as Olivia Speelman took the loss.

Lacrosse

Tecumseh 13, Ypsilanti Lincoln 2

ADRIAN — Tecumseh boys celebrated at Siena Heights as it topped Lincoln by 11 goals to claim a share of back-to-back SEC White championships.

With Dexter falling to Pinckney last week, it allowed Tecumseh to pull within a tie with the Dreadnaughts after snapping a four-game skid.

Ann Arbor Pioneer 14, Tecumseh 4

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh girls fell to Pioneer in SEC competition.

Jazzy Reau had two goals while Cheyenne Bruner and Alexis Miller each scored as well.

Girls Soccer

Clinton 8, Blissfield 1

BLISSFIELD — The Redwolves are nearing yet another LCAA title after a convincing win against the Royals.

Aubrey Lauer had seven goals and assist while Aby Ureche had the other goal and an assist. Allison Bowles had two assists while Anna Schaffner, Lillian Trubiano, Makayla Whitehead all had an assist and Jacklyn Whiting made 11 saves.

Adrian 2, Pinckney 1

PINCKNEY — The Maples have found their groove, winning a third-straight SEC White win as they topped the Pirates.

Tatum Borton and Jaleigh Niese scored with Sydney Hunter getting an assist and Lily Hassan making seven saves.

Tecumseh 3, Jackson 2

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh snapped a three-game winless streak as it beat the Vikings in SEC White play.

Brook Stark scored twice while Kylie Trevino had a goal and an assist and Makayla Schlorf made six saves.

Onsted 3, Ida 2

ONSTED — The Wildcats picked up their eighth win of the season as they beat the Bluestreaks in LCAA play.

The eight wins is the most Onsted has had since least 2009.

Girls Tennis

Adrian 6, Tecumseh 2

ADRIAN — The Maples defeated their rivals once again this season with six wins.

Anayah Yoder, Izzy Morris and Maya Awad all got singles wins for Adrian while Ryan Kominek and Renee Awad, Grace Smart and Caroline Hofflander and Kirsten Hess and Emma Pino all won in doubles.
