Lenawee County high school sports this week

The temperatures are back up and conference races are heating up as well in Lenawee County high school spring sports.

Here's a look at what's happened this week:

MONDAY

Baseball

Chelsea at Tecumseh (DH)

Tecumseh got a big sweep of Chelsea in an SEC White doubleheader, beating the Bulldogs 3-2 and 10-8.

Tyler Clement got the win in Game 1 tossing a complete game, allowing two runs, on five hits and three walks while striking out four.

Rocco Williams delivered the big hit in Game 1 with a two-run single.

Palmer Ziemer got the win in Game 2 as he got the final two outs of the sixth before Connor Adamski got the save.

Connor Bullinger was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs while Jeremy Bennett went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and three runs and Clement went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Bryan Covel went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Ramiro Perez was 2-for-3 and Max Bledsoe went 1-for-2 with an RBI double.

Adrian 15, Jackson 0, 4 inn.

ADRIAN — The Maples cruised against Jackson to pick up an SEC White in the series opener.

Sean Parker didn't allow a hit or walk in four innings while striking out eight. Parker also doubled in the game while Tyler Bruggeman, Maverick Slavin and Gary Kemerer all had two hits.

Adrian led 6-1 in Game 2, but play was suspended to Wednesday at Jackson due to rain.

Sand Creek 4, Madison 3, 5 inn.

MADISON TWP. — The Aggies picked up a non-conference win against former league foe, Madison.

The game was called due to rain and Game 2 was canceled.

Carson Preston was 2-for-2 for Sand Creek with a run while Ivan Wilkinson added a double and Andon Sutherland got the win on the mound.

Brian Dopp had two hits with a double and an RBI for the Trojans while Norman Frederick took the loss.

Addison at Homer (DH)

The Panthers split a pair of Cascades Conference West Division games, falling 8-7 before winning 22-8.

Jaxen Sword went 4-for-5 with a double, five RBIs and two runs in the win while Josh Ray hit a double and drove in three runs and scored three runs. Brodi Keegan went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs.

Logan Jewell got the win with five runs, on seven hits and striking out two in four innings.

Sword also went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs in Game 1 while Ray hit an RBI double and Levi Chestney hit a double as well. Jacob Wright took the loss on the mound.

Softball

Sand Creek at Madison (DH)

The Aggies won a pair of non-league games against the Trojans, topping old league foe Madison, 14-4 and 16-13.

Sand Creek trailed 13-8 in the final inning of Game 2 and scored eight runs for the win.

Maddie Osburn, Makenna Wheeler and Scout Robinson all had two hits in Game 1 with Osburn's being a home run while Lily Hawkins hit a home run and Claire Pickens hit a grand slam.

Wheeler, Hawkins and Emma Pifer all had two hits in Game 2. Hawkins and Pickens got the wins.

Camylie Sower took the loss in both games while Caylan Sower went 4-for-6 on the day with a home run, double, two RBIs and five runs. Macie Kilpatrick went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs.

Mya Solis went 2-for-2 with a run in Game 1 while Jamairiah Powers went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and a run in Game 2.

Chelsea at Tecumseh (DH)

Tecumseh got the win against the Bulldogs in Game 1, 12-8, before ending in a tie due to darkness in Game 2, 8-8.

Jessie Wilkinson delivered a big boost in Game 1 with a home run as she went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and three run. Wendy Ketola was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs while Emma Leitner went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs and Bella Juozapaitis went 2-for-4 with a two doubles and two RBIs.

Lucy Whelan went 2-for-4 with a run and Lauren Kilbarger went 2-for-4 with two runs. Allison Feuerbacher got the win while Leitner got the save, going 3.1 innings and giving up no runs, four hits and striking out four.

Ketola hit a home run with three RBIs in Game 2 while Juozapaitis hit two more doubles with an RBI, Whelan went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs and Kilbarger went 2-for-3 with a run.

Jackson at Adrian (DH)

The Maples won a pair of SEC White games, beating the Vikings 15-0 and 22-6.

Adrian drew 14 walks in Game 1 while Elaine Gordon hit a triple and Ciara Ernst got the win, tossing five shutout innings with five hits, no walks and seven strikeouts.

Hailey Vetitoe and Ernst hit inside the park home runs while the Maples drew 13 more walks in Game 2. Kavonna Galloway hit a double and a triple while Alanna Diaz and Keira Iott each hit doubles.

Makena Arnold got the win and start before Ernst relieved with two runs, on no hits and five strikeouts.

Addison at Homer (DH)

The Panthers dropped a pair of Cascades Conference West Division games, 15-0 and 20-1.

Olivia Speelman hit a double for one of Addison's two hits on the day.

Girls Soccer

Adrian 5, Tecumseh 1

ADRIAN — The Maples picked up their first win against rival Tecumseh in five years behind a hat trick from Tatum Borton.

Borton was aided with goals from Jaleigh Niese and Sydney Chesher scored the other two goals. Niese, Borton, Ella Salenbien and Bridgette Alexander each had an assist while Riley Lahring made two saves.

Blissfield 7, Onsted 2

ONSTED — Avery Collins had another big scoring effort to lead the Royals to an LCAA win.

Collins scored five goals while Maddy Forche and Amelia Seiser scored the other two. Seiser had an assist along with June Miller and Hailey Sills while Arianna Drake made seven saves.

Clinton 13, Dundee 0

DUNDEE — The Redwolves scored early and often against the Vikings to win the LCAA match.

Aubrey Lauer continued her scoring onslaught with six goals while Anna Schaffner, Cylee Elkins and Kaylee Reiser all scored twice and Aby Ureche scored the other goal.

Schaffner added three assists while Reiser, Lauer, Ureche and Lillian Trubiano all had one assist.

Lenawee Christian 13, Bronson 1

ADRIAN — The Cougars went off on Bronson to pick up a third-straight win.

LCS is now 4-3 on the season.

Boys Golf

Tecumseh Invite

Many of Lenawee County's teams were on the links at the Tecumseh Invite where Tecumseh took third at 344, right ahead of Adrian's 345.

Temperance Bedford won with a score of 332.

Adrian's Carson Ritz won with a round of 71 while Tecumseh's Grant Simpson was second at 75, Adrian's Cayden Staib shot an 82 to take seventh while Blake LaJiness shot an 83 to take eighth.

Clinton took ninth (376), a shot ahead of Lenawee Christian in 11th (377) and Onsted shot a 379 to take 13th. Onsted's Connor Szul shot an 84 to tie for ninth while Connor Parisien shot an 85 to lead LCS and Jacob Rothman shot an 88 to lead the Redwolves.

Lacrosse

Saline 21, Tecumseh 3

SALINE — Tecumseh dropped an SEC matchup with the Hornets.

Tecumseh is now 4-7 on the season and 0-4 in the SEC.
