LEGO Fortnite v29.10 Patch Notes: Steerable Vehicles in Mechanical Mayhem

LEGO Fortnite MEchanical Mayhem

Vehicles in LEGO Fortnite up and until now have been a bit rudimentary, but finally, some more complexity is being added to this system with the Mechanical Mayhem update. With the new gadgets and gizmos in this update, you’ll be able to drive around wherever you want, with vehicles that you can build just about however you want if you know what you’re doing.

We’ll explain everything that’s new in LEGO Fortnite v29.10, so you can start crafting some mechanical marvels of your own. If you want to know what’s new in the main Battle Royale mode, then check out our Fortnite v29.10 patch notes instead.

While you can build vehicles from scratch, the best way to learn how is to use the three pre-set vehicles added in this update. The Speeder is a fast little quad bike you can use to zip around the place; the Offroader is a slower but sturdier vehicle that can carry up to four passengers at once; and the Hauler is a heavy-duty truck with a flatbed on the back that you can build whatever you want on top of.

To assemble these vehicles you’ll need to put together the new parts that have been added.

First is the Power Center, which essentially serves as your fuel tank. You can fill them with Power Cells (more on those shortly), and the more you have the longer you’ll be able to drive for.

Next is Wheels. These did exist before, but now they come in two different types. First is the turnable wheels which, as the name suggests, can be turned by a steering wheel. The other is powered wheels, which are the driving force of the vehicle.

Finally, the Driver’s Seat (and passenger seats) are what lets you control the vehicle. It comes with a steering wheel attached so you’ll have full control when sitting in it.

To create the precious Power Cells that keep your vehicles running, you’ll need to build a Composter, which turns your unwanted resources into things like Biomass, Fertilizer, and Soil. Combine Biomass with Glass (found in bandit camps) and you’ll have yourself a shiny new Power Cell ready to go.

The Wrench is a necessity for creating complex vehicles. It determines what channels switches and engines run on. Before, one switch would turn on/off every single device attached to a vehicle, now you can spread your devices out across multiple switches for finer control.
