Over 90 percent of NBA players are vaccinated against COVID-19. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is among that 90 percent.

However, while James did opt to get vaccinated, he admitted today that it wasn’t something he always planned on doing. James told reporters he was “skeptical” about the shot.

Ultimately though, while James said he doesn’t want to be a “public advocate” for the vaccine, he decided it was best for himself and his family if he was inoculated.

As the NBA prepares to begin its 2021-22 season, vaccination status has been an important topic around the league. While an overwhelming majority of players have been vaccinated, some high-profile stars like Kyrie Irving and Bradley Beal reportedly have not.

There’s a chance that Irving could have to miss home games for the Brooklyn Nets this season due to New York City’s COVID-19 vaccination policies. Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins could be in the same boat out in California.

Thankfully for the Lakers, LeBron does not have to worry about any of this since he elected to get the jab.
