Will LeBron James play vs Grizzlies on Friday? Lakers' superstar listed as questionable

Will Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James play against the Memphis Grizzlies?

The Lakers will face the Grizzlies on Friday (7 p.m., Bally Sports Southeast) at FedExForum, and James is listed as questionable with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy. James missed Sunday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves but returned for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors.

It's a critical game for the Lakers, even though they're up against a Grizzlies team that has 13 players already listed as out and has long been eliminated from the NBA playoff race. Los Angeles (45-35) will be in the Play-In Tournament, and while the Lakers are currently the No. 10 seed, they have the same record as the No. 9 Warriors and No. 2 Kings.

That makes Friday a very important game for them. James' fellow star Anthony Davis is listed as probable with a left eye contusion.

When the Lakers were in Memphis on March 27, James played but Davis didn't. Los Angeles won that game, 136-124.
