Lebanon man charged after wife's fatal shooting held without bond, given June court date

A suspect accused of shooting and killing his wife in Lebanon has been jailed without bond in Wilson County, and a court hearing is scheduled in the case next month.

Steven Yarbrough, 42, has a preliminary hearing scheduled on June 7, court records show. Yarbrough is charged with criminal homicide in connection to the death of his wife on May 18.

Catara Yarbrough has been identified as the victim, according to Lebanon Police. A GoFundMe page is set up to help the family with funeral arrangements.

Officers were called to The Ridge at Lebanon apartments on Fairview Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. on May 18 and found the victim, who'd been shot multiple times, according to a social media post from the city's police department.

Catara Yarbrough was taken to Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, where she died, police said.

Steven Yarbrough allegedly fled the area after the shooting, but eventually turned himself in later that day, according to police.

Catara Yarbrough was described as a caregiver to her ailing father in the GoFundMe description.

Tony Maynard has been appointed as the attorney to represent Steven Yarbrough. The investigation is continuing, according to prosecutors.
