‘Leave It to Beaver’ actor Tony Dow hospitalized with pneumonia

“Leave It to Beaver” actor Tony Dow is battling pneumonia and was hospitalized last week, multiple people close to the star confirmed.

Doctors hope to release Dow, 76, within the week after he was admitted last Thursday, TMZ reported.

His wife Lauren says Dow, who portrayed Wally Cleaver on “Leave It to Beaver,” is recovering.

“On behalf of Tony and myself we thank you for your concern for him,” she told TMZ.

Dow has repeatedly tested negative for COVID-19 since arriving at the hospital, his wife said.

The actor was in the emergency room for a day due to a lack of hospital beds, TMZ reported.

It’s unclear where Dow has been hospitalized.

Dow was a main cast member on “Leave It to Beaver.” His character was the older brother of Beaver Cleaver.

The actor’s agent also said Dow is doing well amid his hospitalization, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Tony has been diagnosed with pneumonia but is in good spirits and is doing well,” Frank Bilotta said. “He was up walking around yesterday and his doctors think he should be able to return home within the week.”
