A search was underway in Texas on Wednesday for a pair of suspects accused of fatally shooting three people and wounding a fourth inside a Houston club.

Police said they responded to calls for a fight inside the DD Sky Club, located on the second floor of a shopping center, around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday. At least 30 people were inside for an open mic night when at least one person pulled out a gun and opened fire, the Houston Chronicle reported.

A security guard on the scene told officers that he attempted to break up the confrontation, but when he tried to grab the gun a second person also pulled out their firearm, Houston Police Commander Caroleta Johnson told the newspaper.

When authorities arrived at the Midtown night spot, they found three people all dead from gunshot wounds. A fourth victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Johnson said it appears two of the people shot were involved in the fight while the other two were bystanders, according to authorities. None of the shooting victim have been identified.

The security guard was not injured in the deadly incident.

Johnson said they do not have a clear description of the suspects, but officers are hoping surveillance video will provide more information into the shooting. She said authorities were also looking into whether the DD Sky Club was allowed to be open amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In Texas, restaurants are permitted to be open at 75 percent capacity following a September order from Gov. Greg Abbott.
