Yellowstone fans, you're in for a special treat. A new series is coming out from the franchise, and judging from the sneak peeks alone, we're all in for a heart-pumping adventure.
Amid the delay of 1923 season 2 and the news of Yellowstone season 5 part 2 airing in November 2024, viewers will be introduced to a new character whose past is one seen in American history. The series Lawmen: Bass Reeves follows a real-life man named Bass Reeves (played by David Oyelowo), who was enslaved in 1838 in Arkansas and eventually became renown for being a defender of what is known today as Oklahoma in the later half of the 19th century. What's more, History.com reports that when he accepted the offer of becoming a U.S. marshal, he became the first Black man of that rank west of the Mississippi River.
The new series will see Bass as he tries to keep the people in his territory safe from a number of unforeseen scenarios. And since this is another show coming from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, it's bound to be one filled with a lot of action and suspense.
